Everyday Life Affects Libido

A survey of >11,000 men and womenaged 16 to 44 years showed that women'ssex drives can go downhill as they managethe increasing demands of partners, children, and careers. One in 10 womenreported losing interest in sex for at least 6months in the past year. Married womentended to experience more sexual problems, compared with single men andwomen, according to the results of the surveyreported recently in Sexually TransmittedInfections.

The survey also revealed that 54% ofwomen and 35% of men have sexual problems, but <11% of men and 21% of womenseek a physician's help. For both genders, their first sexual experience could be crucialto their future attitude toward sex. Theworse the encounter is, the greater the difficultythey may experience later in life.
