Medi-Dose Inc (Ivyland, Pa) recently introducedMedi-Dose Information Labeling Technology(MILT) 2.0 for its TampAlerT and LiquidDosepackaging and labeling systems. MILT 2.0 containsan upgradable (through the Internet)National Drug Code (NDC) database.The operatorsimply types or scans in the NDC number from amanufacturer's container (or types the medicationname), and the pertinent information about thedrug will appear. This information can be mappedto designated fields within the software, reducingthe potential for medical errors. MILT 2.0 also wasdesigned with enhanced security features, such asa customer user setting to allow or limit access tocertain operations.
