A recent survey indicated thatAmericans are not too keen on UShealth care. The survey, conducted byResearch!America, found that 60% ofAmericans think the United States doesnot have the best health care system inthe world, and 64% said most Americansdo not receive the health carethey need. A majority of the respondents(70%) felt that it is imperative forthe United States to invest in moreresearch to guarantee a solid scientificbase for health care and its delivery.
Furthermore, a staggering 95%agreed that health care should bebased on the most recent researchavailable. In response to how much ofeach dollar should be spent on healthservices research, the survey revealedthat 56% of the participants said a"somewhat"or "much"higher portionof the health dollar should be earmarkedfor health services research.
