What Management Options Are Most Effective for Patients with Diabetes Distress?
In this interview recorded during the American Diabetes Association 78th Scientific Sessions, Kathryn Kreider, DNP, FNP-BC, BC-ADM, from Duke University, discusses treatment options for patients with diabetes distress.
Kathryn Kreider, DNP, FNP-BC, BC-ADM: As far as treatment options, we know that psychoeducation is very helpful. So, that means education related to mood, motivation, problem solving, coping. That really ties back to the actual problem which is that patients are feeling overwhelmed, so dealing with that directly is really an effective treatment.
