Tera Moore, PharmD: So the benefits to patients is really that role that the psychiatric pharmacist provides is not only to the patients in that improvement to access and quality, but there is improved satisfaction also as having a medication expert as part of the team. Also, for the interprofessional practice, the team benefits from having a medication expert, so they are part of that collaboration and care coordination of treatment planning so that there’s a unified approach in the care needs of the patient for mental health.
