Pharmacy Times Launches Campaign to Celebrate American Pharmacists Month

Article

The #ThankAPharmacist campaign has celebrated and honored pharmacists for the last 5 years.

Pharmacy Times will launch its fifth annual #ThankAPharmacist campaign this October. The campaign recognizes pharmacy professionals as valuable members of the health care team and generates appreciation for pharmacists among their peers, patients and communities through social media posts.

Pharmacy Times will take to social media during American Pharmacists Month to acknowledge pharmacists for their valuable contributions to health care delivery and their commitment to improving patients’ lives. The annual #ThankAPharmacist campaign recognizes thousands of pharmacists throughout the country through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, bringing awareness and appreciation of the profession and celebrating the value of the pharmacist.

People are encouraged to post their messages to pharmacy professionals using #ThankAPharmacist or #APharmacistIs.

"Pharmacy Times is committed to recognizing U.S.-based pharmacists as important members of the health care team who are integral to improving the overall quality of patient care,” said John Hydrusko, vice president of pharmacy & healthcare communications. “We are excited to continue our tradition of supporting American Pharmacists Month this October and invite all to join us on social media using #ThankAPharmacist and #APharmacistIs to show your appreciation for all pharmacy professionals who work hard to help us live healthier lives.”

In the November issue, Pharmacy Times will feature the top 10 posts showcasing the true value of pharmacists. Additionally, video submissions will be highlighted in November on the Pharmacy Times website, and Pharmacy Times will feature the 3 most-liked videos submitted to #APharmacistIs during American Pharmacists Month.
