Pharmacy Times® and Parata Systems Open Nominations for the 2021 Next-Generation Pharmacist® Awards Program

Annual awards program recognizes pharmacists, technicians, students and industry advocates who are defining the future of pharmacy.

Pharmacy Times®, the leading multimedia resource for pharmacy professionals, in conjunction with Parata Systems, is pleased to announce that nominations are being accepted for the 2021 Next-Generation Pharmacist® awards program through Friday, April 30.

“For over a decade, we have been so impressed with the outstanding nominations submitted by pharmacy professionals across the nation for the Next-Generation Pharmacist® awards program,” said John Hydrusko, vice president of Pharmacy & Healthcare Communications. “It is such an honor to recognize pioneers, innovators and future leaders in the pharmacy community who have been on the front lines during this uncertain time, and we look forward to celebrating the achievements of these exceptional, forward-thinking individuals at this year’s awards gala.”

The 2021 Next-Generation Pharmacist® awards program is peer-nominated and honors remarkable pharmacists, student pharmacists, technicians and industry advocates in 10 categories, including civic leader, entrepreneur, future pharmacist, lifetime leadership and technology innovator.

Selected by a panel of distinguished judges, the 30 finalists represent the various roles within the pharmaceutical industry. Three finalists will be selected in each category, representing a range of pharmacy practice settings, including large chain retailers, independent pharmacies, specialty pharmacies, military bases, health clinics and educational institutions. One winner will receive the top honor as the 2021 Next-Generation Pharmacist®. All selected finalists will be featured in the October 2021 issue of Pharmacy Times® and on the program’s website.

“As the ongoing pandemic continues to elevate and exacerbate a professional shift of pharmacists as front-line medical providers, we are honored to recognize these leaders and their commitment to elevating care and the pharmacy profession,” said Rob Kill, CEO of Parata Systems. “For 12 years we have been inspired by the nominations for this award, and we look forward to recognizing this next group of peer nominations and evaluation.”

This year’s recipients will be honored at the 12th annual Next-Generation Pharmacist® awards gala on Friday, October 8 at 6:30 p.m.
