In the second part of the Pharmacogenomics Pharmacy Podcast Series, Philip Empey, PharmD, PhD, BCPS, and James Coons, PharmD, BCPS (AQ-Cardiology), of the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy, explain the concept of pharmacogenomics and describe advances in scientific knowledge and technology, which have led to innovations in personalized medicine.

Dr. Empey and Dr. Coons talk about the implications of pharmacogenomics data in guiding treatment decisions for patients and how pharmacists can lead these initiatives of proactively leveraging DNA testing to better manage patient medication regimens.
