Pharmacist Cares for Local Patient with COVID-19

Article

We're celebrating American Pharmacists Month by honoring amazing pharmacists. Learn what one pharmacist in New Jersey did for a local patient with COVID-19.

Today, we’re celebrating the work of Sally Attia, RPh, who was nominated by Terri Fuller, the father of a patient who recently contracted coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Attia works at Jefferson Pharmacy in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey.

Although the patient was never hospitalized, she was given several prescriptions that Attia filled. In addition, Attia put together a free package of supplements and texted the patient frequently to check on her recovery.

“Sally goes above and beyond to assure patients get what they need,” Fuller said in an email to Pharmacy Times. “Because of her concern and her text messages, my daughter had a much better attitude in regard to staying strong and following her medical instructions.”

Fuller added that the entire pharmacy team at Jefferson Pharmacy is wonderful, and that his daughter has fully recovered.
