Next-Generation Pharmacist Nomination Deadline Extended

A few weeks remain to enter the third annual Next-Generation PharmacistTM awards program.
Do you know a hard-working, inspiring pharmacist who exemplifies what the pharmacy profession can and should be? Help them get the recognition they deserve by nominating them for a Next-Generation Pharmacist™ award. Nomination forms are available at www.nextgenerationpharmacist.com. The deadline for entries has been extended to May 31, 2012. Nominations can be submitted directly from the website or printed out and sent in via mail.
This unique awards program is open to licensed pharmacists practicing in all environments, including chain, independent, institutional, and government settings, as well as technicians and student pharmacists. The awards, given by Pharmacy Times in partnership with Parata Systems, will be presented in the following categories:
1. Rising Star of the Year
2. Entrepreneur of the Year
3. Civic Leader of the Year
4. Technology Innovator of the Year
5. Patient Care Provider of the Year
6. Technician of the Year
7. Long-Term Care Pharmacist of the Year
8. Military Pharmacist of the Year
9. Future Pharmacist of the Year
10. Lifetime Achievement Award
One of the category winners in the pharmacist categories will be chosen to receive the program’s highest honor—the 2012 Next-Generation Pharmacist—which recognizes a pharmacist with an exceptional vision for the pharmacy profession or industry as a whole. Nominations will be evaluated by an independent panel of judges chaired by Pharmacy Times Editor-in-Chief Fred Eckel. The Next-Generation PharmacistTM awards will be presented at a special gala dinner event held at the San Diego Zoo on Monday, October 15, coinciding with the National Community Pharmacists Association Annual Convention.
