The recently launched tool allows patients to efficiently manage their program in real-time.

A new analytic tool to improve patient’s safety and lower costs was recently launched by myMatrixx, a subsidiary of Express Scripts Holding Company. The tool, myDataSense combines comprehensive data and clinical pharmacy knowledge with a top-tier customer service model, giving patients direct access to necessary information, according to a press release from Express Scripts.

myMatrixx specializes in worker compensation programs for pharmacy services with a focus on patient advocacy. The company’s new digital tool draws data from pharmacy events, prescribers, and drug references to create real-time analyses and improved program management for patients on a visual dashboard, according to the release.

“Workers’ compensation is at an ever-increasing risk of disconnected care and unpredictable expenses,” said myMatrixx President, Mike Cirillo, in a prepared statement. “The myDataSense digital tool allows clients to quickly visualize real-time results of their program to help ensure injured employees are receiving appropriate care.”

myMatrixx’s most recent drug trend report noted a 3.3% decrease in pharmacy spending on workers’ compensation in 2017. Additionally, myMatrixx reported an 11.9% decrease in drug spending on opioids for workers’ compensation payers in 2017. Overall, reports from myMatrixx showed more than half of its workers’ compensation plans resulted in lower drug spending, according to Express Scripts.

“With myDataSense insights, we’re able to incorporate clinical analysis and machine learning to measure diverse pharmacy utilization patterns for each patient. With this data, we can identify the need for clinical interventions and quantify the benefits of those interventions,” said Cirillo.
