The conference offers immersive, peer-driven education tracks designed to help independent pharmacies innovate, adapt, and thrive in a changing health care landscape.
Independent pharmacists attending McKesson ideaShare 2025 can expect a comprehensive and forward-looking educational experience designed to address the most pressing challenges in today’s pharmacy landscape. With more than 20 hours of pharmacist-led continuing education (CE) opportunities, the conference, taking place July 10 through 13 in Nashville, Tennessee, aims to equip pharmacy professionals with the tools, knowledge, and inspiration they need to adapt, innovate, and thrive.

According to Jaime Montuoro, PharmD, director of education and practice advancement at Health Mart by McKesson, the education tracks reflect a deep understanding of both the operational and clinical complexities facing independent pharmacies.
“We have expanding opportunities to serve patients’ needs, diversify our pharmacy services, and help to create more sustainable businesses and practices in independent pharmacies,” Montuoro said. “Our programming supports all of this.”
The educational content is built around 3 immersive “learning threads,” each designed to take attendees on a journey from information to implementation. The “Striking the Right Chord at the Counter” thread explores front-end strategies and functional medicine services that promote holistic patient care while unlocking new revenue streams. “Staying in Tune” offers insights into navigating regulatory and advocacy challenges at both state and federal levels, and “Turning Up the Volume” focuses on practical marketing techniques to increase community engagement and drive store traffic.
Education at McKesson ideaShare goes far beyond traditional presentations. In addition to CE sessions, pharmacists will have access to dynamic learning labs, which are in-depth tactical workshops, and interactive PharmaTalks—mini-presentations on the expo floor where peers share real-world strategies and outcomes.
“With all of that curated content, we really take someone on any given subject through our learning threads, which provide the foundation, the peer-to-peer inspiration, and then the hands-on [experience] so that they can leave McKesson ideaShare and be ready to implement change in their pharmacy,” Montuoro said.
Each learning thread is designed to meet pharmacists where they are—whether they’re exploring a new service, refining an existing one, or looking for scalable solutions to operational inefficiencies. The goal is not just to help attendees stay current, but to empower them to lead change in their practices and communities.
This year’s curriculum also reflects emerging trends shaping the future of pharmacy. Topics include sustainable practices, leadership and communication skills, data-driven decision-making, and practical entry points into technologies like artificial intelligence. Sessions are designed to build agility and resilience in a rapidly shifting health care environment.
Importantly, the educational value extends to the full pharmacy team. With pharmacy technician content integrated throughout the agenda, the conference reinforces the growing importance of collaborative, team-based care.
“I think attendees will leave McKesson ideaShare inspired and informed and ready to take action, ready to make changes,” Montuoro said. “I think the things that they’ll learn will help to have real-world impact.”
