Amring Pharmaceuticals Inc

COMPARE TO: DDAVP (Ferring)

INDICATION: Amring has announced the commercial availability of Desmopressin Acetate Tablets, an authorized generic of Ferring’s DDAVP, in 0.1- and 0.2-mg dosage strengths. The product is indicated as antidiuretic replacement therapy in the management of central diabetes insipidus and for the management of temporary polyuria and polydipsia following head trauma or surgery in the pituitary region. Desmopressin Acetate Tablets are ineffective for the treatment of nephrogenic diabetes insipidus.

ROSUVASTATIN CALCIUM TABLETSMARKETED BY: Watson Pharmaceuticals

COMPARE TO: Crestor (AstraZeneca)

INDICATION: The FDA recently approved Watson Pharmaceuticals’ Rosuvastatin Calcium Tablets, the generic equivalent of AstraZeneca’s Crestor. The product is indicated to treat hypertriglyceridemia, primary dysbetalipoproteinemia, and high low-density lipoprotein cholesterol.

METOPROLOL TARTRATE TABLETS

COMPARE TO: Lopressor (Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation)

INDICATION: Mylan recently launched new dosage strengths of Metoprolol Tartrate Tablets, the generic version of Novartis’ Lopressor. The product is indicated to treat hypertension, and it is already available in 25-, 50-, and 100-mg dosage strengths.

ACAMPROSATE CALCIUM DELAYED-RELEASE TABLETSMARKETED BY: Teva Pharmaceuticals

COMPARE TO: Campral (Forest Laboratories)

INDICATION: Teva Pharmaceuticals recently launched Acamprosate Calcium Delayed-release Tablets, the generic equivalent of Forest Laboratories’ Campral. The product is indicated for the maintenance of abstinence from alcohol only when used as part of a treatment program that includes counseling and support.
