For Plaque Removal, Straight Toothbrush Beats Angled

A standard, straight toothbrush appears to remove interdental plaque better than an angled toothbrush, according to a study published in the May 2014 edition of the International Journal of Dental Hygiene. The single-center, single-blind study compared the difference in plaque accumulation in participants who spent 2 minutes brushing with either a straight or angled toothbrush over a 12 days. Plaque removal was higher in those who brushed with the straight toothbrushes.
