A pharmacy in the United Kingdom that opened this week will offer a range of hemp products to treat ailments such as allergies, stretch marks, wrinkles, and other skin conditions.
Although representatives of the pharmacy, called Carun UK, stated in news reports that hemp has healing powers, the products do not contain enough of the psychoactive chemical tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) to get customers high. So, don’t get any ideas about eating a jar of hemp moisturizer.

In the United States, 18 states have legalized marijuana for medical use. Four US states—Alaska, Oregon, Colorado, and Washington—have legalized marijuana for recreational use.
Although pharmacists are not currently involved in the distribution of marijuana, more states are legalizing it. As its use becomes more widespread, pharmacists could be called upon to distribute it.
Products made from hemp or other marijuana byproducts could soon find their way to a pharmacy near you.
