"Sin City" Casino Pharmacy Is a Healthy Bet
A pharmacy located inside the M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas is the first of its kind, offering the ultimate in convenience for hotel guests and gamblers while drawing in members of the community.
As the saying goes, "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." Amidst the revelry, one casino is giving its patrons a chance to do something they will not mind telling folks back home. The on-site pharmacy at the M Resort Spa Casino allows for health consciousness and unbridled leisure to coexist.
"The addition of the on-site pharmacy is a convenient amenity that . . . provides[s] a vital service to our guests and our team members," said Joseph A. Magliarditi, executive vice president and chief operating officer for the M Resort.
Open 365 days a year from 8 am to 8 pm, the pharmacy not only fills prescriptions, but like many others throughout the country, provides health screenings for patients. The M Resort teamed up with Nevada Pharmacy Management, a pharmacy management and consulting company owned by 2 independent pharmacists, to bring the pharmacy to fruition for its grand opening in March.
"As independent pharmacists, we are able to bring, what we believe, is a higher level of service than a typical chain pharmacy," said Brant Skanson, part owner and manager of Nevada Pharmacy Management.
Like an oasis for those in need of medication and counseling, the facility's unique location makes it anything but a typical pharmacy. Although many pharmacies offer the convenience of delivery, the one at the M Resort takes it a step further, bringing patients' prescriptions to their rooms in the hotel, or even to a table or slot machine on the casino floor. No insurance? No problem-members of the resort's iMagine Rewards program can use the points they have earned to purchase medications.
"Working with the M Resort allows us to provide the best service care, promote wellness, and enhance the quality of life for guests and those in the community," said Skanson.
Innovation and convenience combine to make the pharmacy at the M Resort Spa Casino a clear winner.
