Dale Coker, RPh, FIACP Elected IACP Board of Directors President

Dale Coker, RPh, FIACP, owner/pharmacist of Cherokee Custom Script Pharmacy, in Canton, Ga., has been elected President to the 2015 International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists Board of Directors by the IACP membership. Mr. Coker will serve as President through January 2016.

HOUSTON — January 16, 2015 – Dale Coker, RPh, FIACP, owner/pharmacist of Cherokee Custom Script Pharmacy, in Canton, Ga., has been elected President to the 2015 International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP) Board of Directors by the IACP membership. Mr. Coker will serve as President through January 2016.

Mr. Coker has served on the IACP Board since 2010. IACP is an association representing more than 4,000 pharmacists, technicians, students, and members of the compounding community who focus upon the specialty practice of pharmacy compounding. Pharmacy compounding is the long-established tradition in pharmacy practice that enables physicians to prescribe and patients to take medicines that are specially prepared by pharmacists to meet patients’ individual needs.

“Having the clinical and professional expertise of individuals like Dale Coker is essential to IACP's role in developing the best practices of compounding pharmacists everywhere,” says, David G. Mr. Coker has enjoyed a distinguished career as an independent pharmacist for more than 36 years, receiving his bachelor’s of science degree in pharmacy from the University of Georgia Pharmacy School in 1977. In 2000, he established a compounding practice in Ball Ground, Ga., later opening a compounding-only practice in Canton, Ga. In 2008, Cherokee Custom Script Pharmacy became the first Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB)-accredited pharmacy in Georgia.

He has served as president of the local pharmacy association, and as second vice president, first vice president, president and chairman of the board of the Georgia Pharmacy Association (GPhA). He also has served on the board of directors of the Academy of Independent Pharmacy (AIP) and was founder and chairman of the AIP Compounding Section. This Compounding Section comprises more than 40 members across the state. Mr. Coker attained IACP Fellowship in 2008 and began serving on IACP’s Board of Directors in 2010.

Awarded the Innovative Pharmacist of the Year award at the 2006 Georgia Pharmacy Association Convention, Mr. Coker helped develop and is a co-owner of the patented Topi-CLICK ™ topical dosing applicator. Formerly from LaFayette, Ga., he is the son

of Lillie Ruth Coker and the late Rev. Emmett Lee Coker.
