Steroid Use and Osteoporosis

In this video, Kurt Openshaw, MD, of St. Joseph Hospital of Orange, California, discusses osteoporosis in patients who take daily steroid medication. In this case, he discusses a patient who developed the condition and experienced 3 vertebral compression fractures after taking steroid medication to treat sarcoidosis. Dr. Openshaw discusses the complications of the fractures and how they can interfere with normal daily activities.
