ASCP Looks to Fast-Paced October and November
PRESS RELEASE
Frank Grosso, RPh
Executive Director & CEO
American Society of Consultant Pharmacists
We live in a fast-paced world these days, so it probably comes as no surprise that the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists(ASCP) is swiftly moving toward a number of exciting events in October and November.
93% of seniors live in the community, making community pharmacists one of the most accessible senior care pharmacists in America. We recognize the tremendous work you do in the community and encourage you to join other senior care pharmacists at ASCP’s Annual Meeting from November 4-6, 2016 in Dallas, Texas to celebrate and learn how we can help older people live healthier lives through appropriate use of medications.
It is also important to note that Thursday, October 13 is ASCP’s Virtual Lobby Day. On that day, pharmacists everywhere will email their senators and representatives to educate them about the important role senior care pharmacists play in improving the lives of older adults and the American health care system and to advocate for provider status. Pharmacists must work together to advance the Pharmacy and Medically Underserved Areas Enhancement Act (S.R.314/H.R. 592) granting pharmacist Medicare provider status
Last, ASCP is preparing for the largest gathering of senior care pharmacists in the United States: the 2016 ASCP Annual Meeting & Exhibition to be held November 4-6 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas. The agenda is packed with exciting and informative presentations demonstrating proven clinical and technology information to help senior care pharmacists in the community, home care, assisted living skilled nursing and or anywhere.
Senior care pharmacists have no boundaries.
This year’s theme is “empowering seniors to live independently,” helping pharmacists to provide senior care medication management services anywhere! You can find the full conference agenda and registration information at ascp.com/annual2016. Pharmacists are finally being recognized for the clinical services we’ve been delivering with every prescription we dispense. I invite you to join me as we move forward. Not a member? Pharmacy Times subscribers may take advantage of a $100 discount on meeting registration by using promo code 16AM100 during online registration.
