How Pharmacists Can Positively Impact the Industry

There is nothing that hurts us more when a pharmacist stands up and is not passionate about the job that we do and the care that we provide.

Christine Lee-Wilson, Owner of Professional Pharmacy MD, and Nimesh Jhaveri, President, Community Pharmacy and Health, spoke to Pharmacy Times about public policy and advocacy in pharmacy.

Nimesh Jhaveri: The first thing is be passionate about what we do. There is nothing that hurts us more when a pharmacist stands up and is not passionate about the job that we do and the care that we provide. It's personal for me. My father-in-law is a pharmacist. My sister is one. So, now it becomes passion.

Christine Lee-Wilson: I agree with Nimesh. Just be a good pharmacist, just do your job well, and it will just shine through. It's really easy to get discouraged now. I 100% understand that. But then, you have to review and kind of reflect on what your role is and what the oath is that you took as a pharmacist, and the first day you have those keys as pharmacy owner and how proud you were. Just remember that and then share that story.
