Gavras: The use of generic drugs has been extremely effective over the years in lowering overall costs for members. Generic drugs, before they’re allowed to be used in many states, are shown to be absolutely as effective and equivalent to the brand name drugs. This allows a significant cost reduction for these members; therefore, these members can access drugs that are most appropriate for their care at a much lower cost.
