How Can Disruption be Beneficial to the Specialty Pharmacy Landscape?

Marc O’Connor, chief operating officer at Curant Health, discusses the benefits of disruption within the specialty landscape.

O’Connor:I love disruption. I’m a big disruptor. Curant Health is certainly a disruptive force.

The interesting part is the most disruptive companies in the pharmacy-esque space are the ones that do their best to try to align everyone. It’s kind of counterintuitive. Most of the disruption is bringing alignment in pieces, not breaking things down.

It’s an interesting transition that we’re going through in the space, but it’s amazing with the carrots and sticks that are out there that are now focused on improving outcomes of patients.

We are now starting to get aligned—as an industry—with more focus on a common goal and that is the patient.
