This prescription was submitted by Lori Van Devender, PharmD, a pharmacist at McDaniel Pharmacy in Port Gibson, Mississippi. She had “no idea” what the prescription called for, except that it was written for a child who was sick. Do you know what it says?

A pharmacy technician at Walgreens in Kingston, New York, had the pleasure of decoding the cramped drug name and illegible instructions for this strange script. She had to speak with someone in the prescriber’s office to find out what it said. Can you read it?
ANSWERS
Rx 1: 1) Augmentin 600 mg—take 2 teaspoons twice daily 2) Pediaprofen 100 mg—take 1-2 teaspoons every 4 hours as needed for pain
Rx 2: Zithromax 250 (Z-PAK)—take 2 tablets by mouth day 1, then take 1 tablet by mouth daily for 4 more days
