The Good News and The Bad News

New data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention suggest that the death rate from asthma may be ?starting to plateau or decrease? despite the fact that the number of Americans with asthma continues to increase.

According to a report published in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, the death rate from asthma in the United States in 1999 was approximately 17 per million people, whereas between 1990 and 1998 it had been consistently set at 20 deaths per million.
