This spring, Nature’s Truth is launching a product that includes apple cider vinegar, collagen, elderberry, melatonin, and turmeric supplements in both traditional gelatin- and pectin-based gummies to provide a vegan option. The naturally flavored vitamins contain no additives, allergens, gluten, or genetically modified organisms.

ADVIL DUAL ACTIONMARKETED BY: GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare

The FDA has approved GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare’s Advil Dual Action for the switch from prescription to OTC availability, making it the first FDA-approved OTC combination of acetaminophen and ibuprofen in the United States. Study data showed that the fixed-dose combination achieves superior efficacy compared with the monocomponents of acetaminophen (500 mg) and ibuprofen (250 mg) alone. Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that targets pain at the source, whereas acetaminophen blocks the transmission of pain signals to the brain. The product will be launched nationwide this year, according to the company.

OLOPATADINE HYDROCHLORIDE OPHTHALMIC SOLUTIONMARKETED BY: Alcon

The FDA has approved 2 ophthalmic solutions, Pataday Once Daily Relief and Pataday Twice Daily Relief, for OTC use in patients seeking eye allergy itch relief. The approval aims to provide wider access to OTC eye allergy treatments for about 59 million Americans who do not use OTC eye drops for their symptoms. The drops are indicated for relief of itchy eyes related to animal hair, grass, pollen, and ragweed for patients 2 years and older. Olopatadine 0.1% is also indicated for the temporary relief of red eyes.
