At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

• Describe how exposure and contamination can lead to health risks to pharmacists and nurses who compound and administer hazardous drugs (HDs), such as chemotherapeutic agents

• Review the new USP chapter and be able to employ these measures to reduce or prevent unintentional exposure to HDs

• Discuss effective as well as protective and educational measures to minimize risks for those health care professionals who compound and administer HDs
