Probiotics Help Speed Recovery From Common Cold
Probiotics may help to reduce symptoms of the common cold, according to a review published online on April 29, 2014, in the British Journal of Nutrition. The analysis included 20 randomized controlled trials that assessed the effect of probiotics on the duration of cold symptoms in otherwise healthy children and adults. The results indicated that patients who received probiotics were sick for fewer days and missed fewer days of work or school compared with placebo patients.
