Pet Peeves (April 2015)
Read about drive-through smokers, oblivious patients, and other pet peeves.
Drive-Through Smokers.
Nothing frustrates me more than customers who smoke in the drive-through. Don’t they understand that they’re sharing air with sick patients? They (presumably) wouldn’t smoke into the window of a hospital, so I’m not sure why they think it’s okay to do it at a pharmacy.
Callers Who Don’t Listen.
When I answer the phone and say, “Thank you for calling the pharmacy. My name is _____. How can I help you today?” And the caller asks, “Is this the pharmacy?”
Customers Who Ignore Signage.
When patients look up at the signs and still don’t know where to drop off or pick up!
Negative Portrayals of Pharmacists.
It irks me that pharmacists have no respectable personas on television or elsewhere in the media. Who do we have other than Mort from Family Guy and Russell, the drugabusing pharmacist from Two and a Half Men?
What’s bothering you? Bossy patients, abandoned prescriptions, drive-throughs? Pharmacy Times wants to know. Send your pet peeves to PetPeeves@pharmacytimes.com. We’ll add them to our ongoing published list. Share your Pet Peeves with Pharmacy Times today!
