Donation Enhances Pharmacy Program
The University of Minnesota Collegeof Pharmacy recently received a$2-million gift from Paddock Laboratories.The pharmaceutical company'sdonation will support the college's2003 expansion to the Duluth campus.The funds will be used to pay fora portion of renovation of classroomsand laboratories for faculty and students.The contribution also will addto the college's commitment to broadeningpharmacy services in GreaterMinnesota. Currently, the state hasone of the highest demands for pharmacistsin the country.
The 2005 bonding bill earmarkedstate funding to renovate the Life SciencesBuilding on the Duluth campus.The College of Pharmacy will have 2floors in the building, which will benamed "Paddock Laboratories PharmacyEducation Center." Bruce Paddock,president of Paddock Laboratories,is an alumnus of the College ofPharmacy and a native of Duluth.
