Home Testing Is Beneficial
Home blood pressure monitoring allows individuals to better control their condition.For the study, the researchers looked at the results of 18 blood pressure monitoringstudies of 2714 individuals with hypertension. Of the participants, 1359 testedtheir blood pressure at home and 1335 had their blood pressure checked inhealth care facilities. The results found that overall individuals who did home testinghad lower blood pressure levels and more of them reached their blood pressuretargets. (The findings were reported in the British Medical Journal, June 12, 2004.)
