Ohio Prison Pharmacy Errors Draw State Investigation

Pharmacy Times
Volume 0

Ohio's Board of Pharmacy is looking into charges that pharmacists at 2 of the state's prisons provided incorrect or mislabeled medications to inmates. The errors were discovered by prison officials, who said that none of the incorrect drugs were dispensed to inmates and that no prisoners were harmed because of the incidents.

Pharmacy operations at the 2 facilities were provided by Pharmacy Systems Inc.?an outside contractor that was to be paid $575,000 over 2 years. Prison officials terminated that contract in mid course, however.
