VA Hospital Begins Using MedCache

NetRx Corp recently announced the successful installation and commission of a new MedCache Automated Storage and Retrieval System at the Lexington VA Medical Center in Kentucky. NetRx is a provider of automation technology geared toward improving the accuracy and operating efficiencies surrounding the inventory and movement of barcoded unit-dose medications within hospitals.

The Lexington VA hospital, located on the University of Kentucky campus, provides acute medical, neurologic, surgical, and psychiatric services to its patients and is also a teaching facility. The MedCache system automates the medication-distribution process inside the inpatient pharmacy and provides medication to the hospital's acute and long-term care areas. The hospital plans to use the system as its core automation solution to increase patient safety and efficiently process medication fill requests.
