Can You Read These Rxs?
Rx 1: This prescription was faxed to Registered Pharmacist Bruce Bowen of St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis, from a floor nurse who was discharging a patient home. Because the nurse had to counsel the patient on all discharge medications, the nurse needed Bowen's help. After trying to decipher the physician's handwriting to no avail, Bowen called the physician's office for clarification. Do you know what medication is being ordered?
Rx 2: As soon as Bradley Hanna, PharmD, of Costco Pharmacy #142 in Merced, Calif, received this prescription, he knew that it was going to be a tough one. He spent a lot of time deliberating about what drug was being ordered. Finally, he called the prescribing physician to solve this puzzling prescription. Can you put the pieces together and solve this prescription?
