A recent article in JohnsHopkins University?s Health After50 Medical Letter saidhome cholesterol testing kits can give inaccurate and incomplete results. In anexamination of 5 popular home cholesterol tests, the researchers discoveredthat 2 were inaccurate, 2 gave inadequate information, and all required asubstantial blood sample. The article recommends that patients notallow home testing kits to replace having their cholesteroltested by their physician.
