Braces Today Are "Cool," Mothers Say

Attitudes regarding orthodontic treatment have changed dramatically over the years. According to a recent survey of mothers, conducted on behalf of the American Association of Orthodontists, braces are ?cool? and even ?fun.? Of the mothers reporting, 86% said that braces are ?cooler? now than when they were children, and 81% said that their child?s experience of wearing braces was positive or extremely positive. The reason for the change in attitudes is that ?today?s braces are not your mother?s braces,? due to new technologies, advanced computer software, and color and style options. Today?s youth also see popular celebrities sporting stylish braces.
