GlaxoSmithKline has received FDA approval for their AB rated generic version of Zovirax. The prescription ointment is used to treat recurrent herpes labials, more commonly known as cold sores. Patients should apply the cream 5 times per day for 4 days, as soon as onset symptoms are noticed.
