Smartphone App Improves Asthma Control in Kids

Although children with asthma often have trouble remaining adherent to their medications and controlling the condition, the results of a recent study presented at the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology 2014 Annual Meeting suggest that engaging kids and teens with a mobile app can help to improve adherence. After using the app, adherence to asthma medications had improved in 85% of participants, and 42% learned asthma trigger avoidance skills.
