PRESS RELEASE

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (May 4, 2015) — The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) today announced it would collaborate with CW Publishing Group on a new health and wellness information resource for patients of community pharmacies that will allow pharmacists to advance health conversations with their patients.

NCPA is partnering with niche magazine publisher CW Publishing Group (cwpg.com) to produce a biannual print and digital magazine for consumers called Matters of Health. CW will print approximately 500,000 copies of each issue for NCPA pharmacy members to distribute to their patients at community pharmacies across the country.

“Community pharmacists are among the most accessible health care providers, providing services such as medication management, education and counseling, immunizations, and more, particularly in rural areas and medically underserved urban areas,” said NCPA President John T. Sherrer, RPh, co-owner of Kenmar Pharmacy and Poole’s Pharmacy in Marietta, Ga. and a partner in several other Georgia pharmacies. “The launch of Matters of Health reinforces our commitment to driving better health outcomes for patients through education and dialogue. NCPA is pleased to offer this benefit at no cost to our members to help them continue important health conversations with their patients and promote healthy living and well-being.”

“We are pleased to partner with the NCPA to produce an educational health and wellness title that benefits families across America,” said CW Publishing CEO Dean Citroen.

The magazine will cover topics such as coping with chronic conditions, managing heart disease, preserving one’s memory, taking steps to a healthier lifestyle, and managing medications. The first issue will be released this summer.
