How TIL Therapy is Helping Patients Overcome Mucosal Melanoma

English discussed the challenges and highlights of her time in the trial, in addition to what she feels health care professionals should learn from her own treatment experience.

Pharmacy Times spoke with Toni English about her experience participating in a clinical trial at the Orlando Health Cancer Institute and officially being cancer-free after her time in the trial.

After learning about her diagnosis of mucosal melanoma, which is a very rare disease, English was asked to participate in a clinical trial that used TIL therapy, which uses a patient’s own tumor cells as ammunition to kill cancer. Unlike other lengthy treatments, TIL therapy is administered in a single hospital admission.

English discussed the challenges and highlights of her time in the trial, in addition to what she feels health care professionals should learn from her own treatment experience.
