Helping Patients Improve Asthma Control

In this video, Barbara Yawn, MD, director of research at the Olmsted Medical Center, discusses practical suggestions for treating asthma. According to Dr. Yawn, between 50% and 60% of adults and around 80% of children with asthma have trouble controlling their symptoms. She explains the importance of ongoing discussions about asthma symptoms and triggers, as well as helping patients identify asthma triggers. In addition, she stresses helping patients integrate medication use into their lives, while also instructing on correct inhaler use.
