In an interview at the Pharmacy Development Services 2022 conference, Jen Diehl, CPA, discussed some common financial concerns for independent pharmacies and where she sees the landscape heading in the future.

Diehl said profit margin is always the biggest financial issue for independent pharmacies, and reimbursement and direct and indirect remuneration fees continue to be frustrations. Despite these issues, however, Diehl said she sees a lot of reasons to be hopeful about the future of independent pharmacies.
