Expert: COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates in Health System Reflect Patient-Centered Approach

In an interview with Pharmacy Times, Anna Legreid Dopp, PharmD, CPHQ, senior director of clinical guidelines and quality improvement at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, said their organization was proud to sign onto a recent statement urging health care organizations to mandate COVID-19 vaccines for their employees.

In the interview, Dopp said vaccine mandates have been proven to be effective in the past, and are still common with influenza and other vaccinations. She added that medical professionals have an obligation to do what's best for patients, and being vaccinated is part of that patient-first approach.
