ASHP Launches CareerPharm Rapid Connect Portal Amid COVID-19 Staffing Concerns

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists has launched a new, free service to connect health care facilities with pharmacy personnel who can help alleviate potential staffing shortages.

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) has launched CareerPharm Rapid Connect, a new, free service to connect health care facilities with pharmacy personnel who can help alleviate potential staffing shortages during the coronavirus 2019 disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

COVID-19 response is straining the health care system, causing a very real risk of staffing shortages. The new portal by ASHP is a free service created to fill a growing need for hospitals and other health care organizations during the pandemic.

The ASHP CareerPharm Rapid Connect unites health care facilities with pharmacy personnel who can provide:

  • Surge support
  • Remote medication order review and validation
  • Remote clinical pharmacy specialist services
  • Pharmacy technician support
  • Temporary onsite staffing
  • Other staffing needs

Candidates who are pharmacists or pharmacy technicians, and who are willing and able to work, are encouraged to create a profile and post their CV, as well as browse the job board, and apply to open positions.

Employers who are experiencing or anticipating a staffing shortage can post open positions, review applications, and search the CV database.

Visit the ASHP website to access either the employer or candidate portals.
