PRESS RELEASE

AJHP (American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy) today announced the launch of a redesigned website for the scholarly journal’s online presence, AJHP.org. The new site for ASHP’s peer-reviewed, scholarly publication is optimized for mobile devices and features a sleek and modern design, easier article navigation, content collections, and the availability of PubMed-indexed, ahead-of-print articles.

The newly designed AJHP.org website represents the most recent step in the publication’s yearlong print and digital transformation. In January 2016, AJHP launched an extensive redesign of its print edition, which highlights a new approach to content that includes theme issues, increased calls for papers, and a heavier emphasis on editorials that address the most compelling topics in 21st-century healthcare. Through its website, AJHP will host collections of content that are relevant to ASHP members, such as credentialing and privileging and other cutting-edge topics.

The refreshed and streamlined appearance of the new AJHP.org, combined with enhanced presentation of figures, tables, and supplemental data, provides a more dynamic experience for readers and heightens the journal’s impact.

“The redesigned digital and print AJHP provide powerful platforms for the original research, comprehensive reviews, guidelines, and other healthcare information that drive optimal patient outcomes,” said AJHP Editor in Chief Daniel J. Cobaugh, Pharm.D., DABAT, FAACT. “With an improved digital presence, we expect to see further increases in ASHP member engagement with AJHP and discovery of the journal’s content.”

The updated site also gives members the ability to share AJHP content directly through ASHP’s online member community, ASHP Connect. In addition, the journal now has an official Twitter account. Follow @AJHPOfficial for information related to AJHP articles, theme issues, authors, podcasts, and more.

AJHP has also updated the site for AJHP Voices, the journal’s official podcast, at www.ajhpvoices.org. The new site for AJHP Voices includes a new design, photos of interviewees, and links to related AJHP articles.

Together, the new print and digital formats reflect a major change in AJHP’s mission — “Advancing Science, Pharmacy Practice, and Health Outcomes.” This broader focus supports AJHP’s role as a source of the latest scientific evidence, practice information, news, and opinion pieces that can guide medication use and healthcare delivery at the patient, population, and policy levels.
