In this video, Shannon Manzi, PharmD, EMT, Team Lead, Emergency Services at Boston Children's Hospital, and Chief Pharmacist on the Metro Boston Disaster Medical Assistance Team, describes the experience of helping to respond to the Boston Marathon bombing in April 2013. Despite having extensive experience dealing with traumatically injured patients and responding to disasters both in the United States and abroad, Dr. Manzi explains that responding to the Boston Marathon bombing was different because it was an act of terrorism that had occurred in her own backyard.
