PROGRAM EDUCATES ON SAFE USE OF OTCs

The FDA's Center for DrugEvaluation and Research (CDER) haslaunched an on-line educational programabout the safe and effectiveuse of OTC medications. The "Medicinesin My Home" interactive Website includes a "Teachers' Room,"featuring a PowerPoint presentation,a pre-and posttest, in-class lessonmaterials, and activities for use withfamily members.

The program, in cooperation withthe National Council on PatientInformation and Education andMaryland's Montgomery CountyPublic Schools, emphasizes the significanceof the drug facts labeland tells children to ask adults forpermission before using a medication.For more information aboutthe program, visit www.fda.gov/cder/medsinmyhome/index.html.
