On Thursday, the Senate passed a measure that will provide funding to require the disclosure of drug prices in advertisements, The Hill reported. According to the article, the passage is part of a massive health care spending bill that the Senate passed on Thursday. The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America said the move would confuse patients and could violate the First Amendment, while the Trump administration has supported the idea as part of President Trump’s plan to lower drug prices, the article reported.

A new poll has found that 70% of Americans support “Medicare for all,” according to The Hill. The article reported that the Reuters-Ipsos survey found 85% of Democrats said they support the policy along with 52% of Republicans. The Reuters poll surveyed American adults throughout June and July this year, asking 2989 respondents about Medicare for all, according to the article.

The FDA on Thursday approved Kala Pharmaceuticals Inc’s treatment for reducing inflammation and pain following eye surgery, Reuters reported. According to the article, Inveltys is a corticosteroid administered twice per day, as opposed to current treatments that are applied 4 times per day. The company said it expects to launch the drug in the beginning of 2019, the article reported.
