Reasor's Partners with Oklahoma Caring Vans to Provide Free Immunizations to Children

Article

Reasor's is partnering with the Oklahoma Caring Van Program to immunizations to children the start of the school year.

PRESS RELEASE

"Reasor's is proud to once again partner with the Oklahoma Caring Van Program to help our customers get the immunizations they need before school starts. This program provides essential vaccinations for preventative health care for any child that needs them, free of charge." said Andy Becker, Reasor's director of pharmacy.

The Caring Van is a mobile unit staffed by registered nurses that provides all immunizations required by Oklahoma law for enrollment in schools or child care, free of charge. Immunizations are given on a first come, first serve basis. A parent or guardian must bring a copy of their child's immunization records and be present to complete paperwork.

"The Oklahoma Caring Vans are on the road providing needed vaccines to children in the community and we are thrilled to partner with Reasor's to provide a service that is so essential for families as they prepare to send their children back to school." said Kendra Jones, Caring Van Program Coordinator.

About The Oklahoma Caring Foundation

The Oklahoma Caring Van Program delivers immunizations to protect children and adolescents from dangerous illnesses at no cost to their families. The Oklahoma Caring Van Program is uniquely designed to eliminate barriers that commonly prevent children from receiving on-time, age-appropriate immunizations in traditional health care settings. Since the program began in October 1999, thousands of children have received immunizations from registered nurses aboard the Caring Vans. Immunization information is entered in the Oklahoma State Immunization Information System (OSIIS) so children's vaccine history is readily available.

The Caring Vans travel to licensed child care centers, schools and community locations statewide.
