Publix Retail Pharmacy Opens Second Location in Nemours Children’s Health System

Publix Super Markets is expanding its collaboration with Nemours Children’s Health System to provide retail pharmacy services at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care in Jacksonville, Florida.

LAKELAND, Florida, Feb. 6, 2017 — Publix Super Markets is expanding its collaboration with Nemours Children’s Health System to provide retail pharmacy services at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care in Jacksonville, Florida. The pharmacy, which opened today, offers specialized convenience to children, their families and Nemours employees at the outpatient specialty care practice.

“Providing a uniquely satisfying experience is a Nemours core value,” said Michael Erhard, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Nemours Children’s Specialty Care. “Publix’s culture is built on that same value, so we are pleased to have a Publix Pharmacy on our local campus. The services they provide will improve the experience of our patients and families while offering expanded convenience during their visits.”

“We are excited to expand our collaboration with Nemours Children’s Health System,” said Fred Ottolino, Publix vice president of pharmacy operations. “Our pharmacy associates look forward to delivering the level of service that Publix is known for to the children, families, and employees of Nemours Children’s Specialty Care.”

The Publix Pharmacy at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care will bring many enhancements including

  • Operating hours of Monday — Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Access to specialty medications for children and employees
  • Access to refills at any Publix pharmacy location
  • Access to certain medications available free through Publix. (These include select antibiotics, Lisinopril, Amlodipine, and immediate-release Metformin as permitted by applicable law. Certain restrictions apply; see pharmacy for details.)

Publix operates more than 1,000 pharmacies in six states in the Southeast, including five locations within hospitals in Florida. This is the first pharmacy operating in an outpatient specialty care practice.
