Bladder Cancer Treatment Is Advancing Faster Than Answers on Sequencing and Toxicity Management

Robin Tumlinson, PharmD, BCOP, discusses how rapidly expanding bladder cancer options are creating new questions around treatment sequencing, toxicity management, biomarker testing, and multidisciplinary care.

Bladder cancer treatment has changed rapidly with the introduction of antibody-drug conjugates, immunotherapies, intravesical therapies, and biomarker-guided approaches across multiple disease settings. These advances have improved outcomes and expanded bladder-preserving options, but they have also created questions about treatment sequencing, patient selection, adverse-event management, and coordination between medical oncology and urology.
